The goal was to create a local structure in direct communication with its environment, hosting a modern college in a vibrant community. Kurtogpí Architects designed the building.

The footbridge over Hringbraut is the result of a design competition held in 2003. The bridge is cast in-situ with curved timber formwork and expansion joints only at the landings. The delicacy of structure and form is reinforced by the lightweight handrail. Studio Grandi Architects designed the bridge in conjunction with Efla Engineers (formerly Línuhönnun).
